Driver CPC - As from Sept 09
Driver CPC is short for 'Driver Certificate of Professional Competence'. This new qualification is a legal requirement for all professional drivers over 3.5 tonne. It has been introduced across the European Union from September 2009 to maintain high driving standards.
Driver CPC Training covers 5 modules, each module is based on a compulsary 7 hour session which equals 35 hours of periodic training.
The Three mandatory modules which have to be covered are
Safe and fuel efficient driving,
Regulations i.e Tacho and Digitach
Health and Safety Service and Logisitics
Plus two optional modules (one option can be based around company requirements)
